The question that led me to SonicHear

“How can we help families find answers earlier?”
This photograph marks an important chapter in my journey in audiology at Ali Yavar Jung in Mumbai. It reminds me of the purpose behind my studies: helping children and families find the support they need.
Working as a Speech Language Pathologist at Ananth Centre for Learning and Development made that purpose personal. Alongside each child was a family trying to understand their needs, navigate uncertainty and find a way forward.
One question stayed with me:
How can we help families find answers earlier?
That question connects my clinical experience, my studies in audiology and my motivation for building SonicHear. I wanted to take what I had learned and help make the first step towards hearing care more accessible.
At SonicHear, I am turning that motivation into action. Together, we are developing an affordable newborn hearing-screening solution designed around the realities of healthcare in India. As we build our MVP, the needs of families and healthcare professionals guide what we develop, evaluate and improve.
Behind every screening is a child—and a family who deserves clear guidance about what comes next.
Our mission is simple. Our ambition is bold: work with partners to help screen 20 million newborns by 2030.
The ambition is shared. My motivation remains personal: helping more families find answers earlier.
